UK passport holder, but Resident in Spain with T.I.E card Qs

The only thing I remember is, YES I believe I have legal residency since 2016 on my green card, but my TIE card expires 2025. I was told if applying for a TIE card in 2020 if you were under five years you would only get a Temporary Tie card, which was the case. That's why I mentioned about renewing my TIE card as 2021 would qualify for a ten year Permanent TIE but questioning it I was informed you cannot until the existing one expires in 2025. Just a thought but my idea was based on so many changes take place with Goverment thoughts. LOL

The BOE on the issue of these cards clearly states the years you had a green card would be counted in the 5 years for residency.

They have said there is no need to actually change the card to permanent one as you will be recorded as permanent from 5 years after you received the green card, not 5 years after you received the TIE and the five years merely shows the validity of the card, not your residency.

Indeed, the old green card is still valid for use.

True enough my friend but I always think about changes later on LOL That's why I would prefer a Permanent TIE card.
I still have my Green card also but I went once to have my change of address on the Green card. Does that mean you should change your address if you move house on a TIE card or just on the usual Padron is suffice. I may enquire again about a Permanent TIE again as it would save any bother travelling about later on around the Schengen zone.
