Audacious Thief About!

No, I spoke to one of the people on the community a couple of days ago and she updated me on things that were happening there (that's how I knew about the extra security measures that they have just put in place there!) and apparently this happened to my neighbour two doors down. I can't understand what would make him take it off - and he would only do that if someone spoke German to him (his main language) - although he is very proud of his jewellery and does like to show it off. Not a good idea in any country!!!
One of the main problems on my community is that 8 different languages are spoken - and so to understand the whole circumstance can be quite difficult at times! Not many people can speak Spanish (I'm talking about English or other europeans) and many of the Germans can speak neither Spanish nor English - so communication can be an issue!!

Oh, maybe it's a common confidence trick as I definitely read about it happening quite a while back in a couple of different guises. All the more reason to be aware then!
The neighbourhood watch website is a good thing to help communicate these kind of things to more people who otherwise might not hear about them and we at TalkQuesada can help by passing on helpful information like this too. It may seem scary to read about these 'incidents' all at once on the Rojales Neighbourhood Watch website but it serves a very good purpose by making us aware of what to do to keep us and our property safe.

I think that there are a few simple rules and as long as they are followed you should stay safe and trouble free! I think that wearing a lot of jewellery is a bit of a no,no and one thing that I have seen a lot of people do is to have a purse on top on a shopping bag, albeit, just inside the bag; make sure that your valuables are not on sight or easily got at and then if someone asks you directions in the street or distracts you (they are probably innocent 99% of the time!) then you know that there is no way anyone can take anything; and when you are at home make sure that no-one has the opportunity to gain access whilst you are relaxing! Then the chances are that none of the above problems will affect you.
