We purchased a car last year when should we receive the bill for tax for 2018. Many thanks

May to June to be paid by but should receive bill April ,why not go to the SUMA office and sign a Direct Debit

There is nothing more sure than death and taxes. Car Suma runs from January to December so you will be informed by post shortly.

Can I check please is it a bit like paying car tax in the UK where you set up the direct debit and it keeps running until you sell the car? Also is it a yearly direct debit or a monthly one?

Yearly and, yes, until you sell or get rid of the car. (It's only around 40 euro a year so a monthly one would hardly be worth doing).

40 euros a year I wish mine is 165 euros and its only a 20 year old Seat Toledo :) :)

Is La Hoya in Elche? I've paid €42.60 for the last 3 years and it was €38 the year before that.

Each municipality sets its own rate of tax each year so you must be in an expensive area, either that or we're in a cheap one.
Keep it another 5 years and it'll become exempt from road tax.

do you have to pay the tax in the town the car is registered in, ? i have one registered in Torrevieje and one in castalla.
also how old does the car have to be before it needs ITV? thanks
