Confused about Certs / Clave

Confused about Certs / Clave

Postby Expat in Quesada » Wed Jan 31, 2024 6:13 pm

Hi all,

I am trying to get my head around the items required to make digital transactions easier in Spain. (Paying car tax, Suma etc) I have seen some conflicting advice saying the Cl@ve is obsolete. Confusing details about the digital certificate and electronic signature with people saying they are the same thing with two names.

I have applied for a digital cert with FNMT for myself and my wife and now need to book an appointment at an identity office. Many telephone calls later and still no reply. They don't make it easy here! I think someone is being paid to obfuscate as many tasks as possible.

Can someone answer the following for me.

Is the Cl@ave obsolete or should I apply for one?

Does the "digital certificate" and "electronic signature" refer to the same thing?

Many thanks.

John.

They will help and issue the code for the digital certificate and you do need an appointment. You can book online

Thanks for replies guys. I will search for our closest SUMA office and make an appointment. (Assuming they answer the phone. Lol)

Cheers.
