New property tax?

New property tax?

Postby KimmiRocks » Sun Aug 30, 2015 12:16 pm

Hi all. When I met with the guy that handled my will in Spain, he said that a new tax law was starting later this year that we all had to comply with or we'd be in trouble.

He said that even if one doesn't rent their property out (I don't) we all have to pay a fee to submit that information to the tax office. He's only charging Euros 49 annually to do this but I wondered if anyone else knew if it was correct.

Anyone know anything?

Well I know that even if you don't rent out you have to pay a portion of tax
We bought our house Nov 2013 , we paid a tax in December 2014, 2014 tax will be paid December 2015, think it's known a wealth tax but not new, so not sure
What the one is that you talk of. They just assume you could rent out.

That's the non-resident Imputed Income Tax. The fact that you have a holiday home is classed as a benefit and you are taxed according to that benefit.
Wealth tax (or patrimonio) is a totally different one and won't affect you unless you have income and assets over a million euro a year.

It's not a new tax it's the modelo 210 non residents tax. I've been completing this since 2005 ( online for the last 3 years ).

https://www.agenciatributaria.gob.es/AE ... GF00.shtml

Complete the form online, print off and take the form (3 copies) to your bank and pay it there.

The final date for submission is 31st December and this is for the tax year 2014.

You will need to know your "valor catastral" which can be found on your IBI /Suma bill.
Each named person on the Escritura will need to complete a separate form...
