Non-Residents Tax
Non-Residents Tax
by Elpando » Sun Sep 16, 2018 10:06 pm
Hi. Sorry if this duplicates a previous thread but.. My wife and I bought a property a few years ago but the Non-residents tax is still a little puzzling. Our latest tax bill came to 84.98 euros via our fiscal representative and we both received a receipt for 42.49 euros. Would it still be 84.98 euros if you lived on your own? Unfortunately our rep hasn't been the best at communicating with us generally but that's another issue we will have to deal with.

The NR tax is per person so if there were only one it would be 42.49€. Your Fiscal representative should have explained this, if you are paying them to do your taxes. Hopefully the rep has told you about the Suma as well, which is like council Tax in the UK but at a fraction of the cost.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Jan. We seem to be up to speed with most other things now. Since the initial house purchase, which he handled very well to be fair, this is the only thing he has to do for us, but we have had to repeatedly chase him for feedback and stamped receipts for our files etc. I actually sent him an email earlier this evening asking for a copy of "stamped as paid" 2016 Modelo 210 form which we haven't received from him yet. Looking for easier and cheaper ways of doing this from now I think.

The non residents tax is for the property. If you were the only owner then you would pay the full amount but as your wife is also on the Escitua then it divided between the 2 of you.
Happy in the sun.

The NR tax is per property, divided between each NR owner. You would pay €84.98 if you lived on your own.

We use spanishtaxforms.co.uk to do all our tax returns. They charge £29.95 per form and will also pay it in the bank for you if required for an additional charge. Their communications are quick and excellent and I can thoroughly recommend them.

Oops sorry. I thought it was per person.
