I thought the only bills that were split was the imputed income tax which is not collected by SUMA. The IBI (council tax - SUMA is the name of the collection agency) is not due until about Sept to Oct time.
If you only moved last year then the owners of the property on 1st Jan last year would have been responsible for the IBI unless your solicitors came to an agreement to pay a proportion of it.

We only get one IBI bill even though the property is jointly owned.

To get a bill at this time of the year implies unpaid taxes so I would pop along to the SUMA office in Rojales and they will explain if there was anything outstanding (which should have been sorted out by your solicitor when purchasing).

Why not go into the Suma office in Rojales and sort it. The ladies are very helpful and will speak English if you need.
