Taxi home

Hi All

I will be renting a villa in Quesada during August and was wondering if I could drive in to the centre in the evening have a meal and drink and find a taxi home, then walk back next morning to get the car.

Thanks for your replies Robert

Hello Robert,

:text-welcomewave:

Welcome to TalkQuesada. Hope you enjoy the forum and find it helpful for your holiday.

There are taxi's in the high street sometimes parked up waiting but depending on where you are you could walk home. The evenings are lovely in August, perfect for a stroll.

There are also some taxi numbers on here but you may find that you have to book them in advance:

Where did you read about muggings and where were they.? We live in London and feel quite safe there but in Quesada we feel even safer walking about at any time of day or night. We have had our holiday home for 8 years and have never heard of anyone being 'mugged' - Handbag snatching yes. But that happens anywhere. The safe thing is not to carry one or if you do, not to keep valuables in it.

I often do just that. I live close to the golf club and drive in and pick up the car the following morning. I have never heard of any problems walking home (I've done it many times). There are normally a couple of taxis in the "rank" outside the chinese shop.

Hi All and thanks for the information. I have been reading the neighbour hood watch page and various forum info. All seem to go on about pickpockets ,burglary ,confidence tricks etc etc and along with the villa owners instruction (banks are less secure) which suggest falling asleep by the pool I would wake up and find my trunks gone. Joking apart it seems nobody ever rights the nice thing I suppose if every crime in manchester was all you read about you would feel scared to vist but after reading your post above I feel more at ease
. Thanks again Robert.

Hi Robert, we very often drive into town and then walk back to our place quite late. Sometimes even stopping off for a swift half with Elitha (I think that's spelt correctly) at La Taverna on the way. I have never once felt threatened, intimidated or had any problem what so ever. Obviously same rules apply on holiday as they would at home - do not openly carry expensive phones, show full wallets off in bars etc.

The only point I would make is if the fiesta is on when you are over, do not leave your car anywhere on the main street in town as it WILL be towed away.

Have a great holiday!!!

I have to agree with everyone else - we have lived in Quesada for 7 years and never had any problems walking home in the early hours.

I have even been out with girlfriends and walked home alone (not very often) but this is something I would never consider doing in the UK.

You should be fine as long as you are sensible and don't flash the cash or get too drunk - just be responsible and enjoy your holiday.

xx
