cuevas in May

cuevas in May

Postby evrodgers » Wed Apr 24, 2024 5:56 pm

Hola

I'm over for a few weeks and hope to visit the Rojales cuevas on the 1st Sunday in May. I have brought some needlecraft items to sell for the Shelterbox charity and wonder if anyone has had a craft stall there. Does anyone know how I can go about booking a stall? - or anywhere else I could sell some items?

TIA

Over the last couple of years, there have been dramatic changes with the craft 'encounters'.
The stalls at the caves are now primarily exhibit & demonstration points where the artist can sell but no prices must be put on anything and the artist/craftsman are expected to be actually working on something there so visitors can watch.
To have a stall you have to apply by sending details of your work with photos of you producing it etc.

If your application is successful they will add you to their list and notify you when they would like you to be there and tell you where your allocated space is.
The first weekend in May is a whole weekend of art encounters there with music, dancing, food, etc. , so is always fully subscribed re stalls.
Here are the details they require:-

Thank you Martin. I don't think this is going to work for me, but I appreciate you taking the time to answer my query.

It's basically why I have stopped going, although I was the one that started the monthly 'encounters' 14 years ago.
But they now expect me to transfer canvases and wet paint to & fro and set up in a windy corner where my work gets damaged.
