Do you mean La Mata salt lake by Quesada? In which case you have to go around the other side and use the car park and walks starting from Guardamar (bit of a pain, it would be nice if you could enter from this side).

If you mean the Torrevieja "pink" lakes then you can enter in several places. We find the best is to go down the road by Mercadona at San Luis and drive down to the end where you can access it.

Or you can go on a guided tour of the Torrevieja ones from the El Chaparral. From March to September you can the tourist train from Torrevieja which takes you to the salt lakes and gives you a guided tour for about €8. That includes a trip to the museum and take about an hour all together.

Hi,
I find the La Mata salt lake is nicer to walk (and run) around as they are always improving it. There's a large picnic area with bench tables where quite often I see groups sitting for lunch or breakfast that they have brought with them. There's a main path that if you follow it from the crematoria it takes you all the way to the look out point near the Montesinos roundabout on the CV 905. From point to point it's about a 12 km return walk with a couple of look out and rest points on the way to look at the lake and wildlife from. Loads of smaller paths that come off the main one to explore. Another great viewpoint is if from the crematoria you go up the hill to the green sheds, which are actually big pigeon coops,at the top are great views of La Mata and beyond.
If you Google Parc Natural de La Mata all the information is on there, including how to get there and where to park.
Enjoy :-)
