Beach walking

Beach walking

Postby Jayne » Mon Aug 28, 2017 3:26 pm

Yesterday my husband and I were walking from Guardamar towards El Moncayo along the beach/paddling when a fishhook with weight attached became embedded in my husband's foot resulting in medics/ambulance taking us to the health centre to have it removed - very painful. We cannot fault the attention we received from the lifeguard, ambulance and the many mainly Spanish people who came to our assistance whilst we were waiting for the medics. My husband foot is sore and he is hobbling but hopefully it will heal and be fine in a few days. We are just wondering if it was a case of our bad luck or is this a common occurrence as it could have much more serious consequences had it happened to a child.

Yes maybe, it's just that the Spanish people who came to our assistance were very uncomplimentary about night fishermen being careless. He is ok thanks, hobbling but am sure in a few days will be fine.

Unfortunately if it was night fishermen, it was probably just an accident, even with a good light source, it isn't always easy to find something dropped in the dark.
