in a bar yesterday , on a nearby table 6 elderly uk pensioners, the mouthy one ,asked very loudly for a fork and serviettes , the waiteress came over he neither said please or thankyou,then they tried to short pay on the bill, very rude in my opinion, a let down to the british people ,

Some people just have no manners we see this from all nationaities! but then agan you do also get some ignorant waiting staff who should not be doing the job!

the waiteress was nice and pleasant and on the ball,he was the ignorant arse.

I am amazed at the amount of people, Brits and Scandis, who do not have the basic decency to use please and thank you.

I don´t think it is confined to the older generation. I think it is particularly bad in 40/50 year olds.

I am eighty years of age and always make a point of saying please and thank you for any service I receive. I don't think you can say that one age group is more polite than another. I have met old and young with good manners and also bad manners. I think the way you were brought up stays with you for life.
