Day trips from Quesada

Day trips from Quesada

Postby ctovey86 » Tue Dec 26, 2017 5:59 pm

Merry Christmas!

Does anyone have any ideas for day trips during the winter months?

We've been to torrevieja, Guardamar, Benidorm and Guadalest... and we generally go these places each time we visit, looking for somewhere new to go.

Thanks!

Alicante and Cartagena have a lot to offer for a Visitor. Look for the Tourist Infornation Offices. They will have plenty of leaflets.

+1 for Cartagena, well worth a day out. Also Elche Safari Park, if it's open this time of year.

Yes, Alicante and Cartagena are excellent places for days out.
If you are still here February/March time then the Jalon valley is excellent as the almond blossoms will be coming out. Also loquats on sale in the many stalls. Jalon itself has some nice walks along the river and a couple of bodegas that allow free tasting.
Elche is a good day out (even got an El Corte Ingles) plus the sea front with all the palm trees are lovely but don't miss the palm groves at Palmeral (near the Basilica de Santa Maria) which are breathtaking.
And Rio Safari is open all year round.

If you are driving to Cartagena, try parking the car at La Union and taking the short train ride into Cartagena. The journey is interesting as it goes past the old tin mines, also the parking is cheaper.

And just get in the car and head north of Murcia etc. for some amazing landscapes, pop into a bar for a tapa & drink...
