Doctor or hospital advice needed please?

Doctor or hospital advice needed please?

Postby Sunny B » Wed Jan 03, 2018 8:47 am

I’ve had severe sickness for 24 hours and can’t even keep water down and sadly I don’t think I’m any better this morning! Hubby is going off to get me some dehydration medicine, but if I’m still feeling bad how do I get a doctor or should I go to the hospital?Neither of us have ever been poorly here before. Thanks

Are you resident?... a visitor?... do you have a SIP card... EHIC...??

The answers to these questions will depend on the advice you get...

Are you british?you don't don't say if your retired or entitled to nhs health care, theres private doctor down near the arches hes good, you,ll have to pay but hes not expensive,€40 for consultation plus medication/prescription.
or just go in chemist on the main street tell them your symptom's ,ask for Mark he speaks good English

If you are in need of emergency car call 112 for an ambulance. You can have health care at hospital with your EU health card and passport.

If you are older or have an illness then you may need medical care.

Drink plenty of water if you can. If you are becoming dehydrated (DARK coloured urine is an indicator) then you need help.

Vega baja hospital on the way to orihuela is excellent and the emergency department is great for these problems as is torrevieja hospital.

If vomiting is not easing within 24 hours seek help.

Pour Coca Cola into a glass and using a spoon, get rid of all the bubbles ( carbonisation) then, try to drink this. I sincerely hope you are improving. Your husband could ask the chemist for BUCCASTEM tablets...you put one between your lip and gum and allow it to dissolve and it will go straight into your blood stream rather than your stomach. This is an anti nausea medication...wonderful.
Please let us know how you are doing.
Get better soon.
Rosemary.
