Cheapest bottled gas?

Cheapest bottled gas?

Postby Roach » Sun Feb 04, 2018 4:24 pm

Hi where is the cheapest place/garage etc that sells bottled gas for the fire?

Seen it stated a few times that bottled gas is X amount but then you go to get some and it's about 5e more expensive.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

I believe the heavy orange ones are the cheapest the lighter silver ones are a few euros more. Some places add 50c extra than another place, just ask around at a couple of garages and ferreterias maybe

A Repsol gas bottle (the orange ones) has a fixed price in Spain which is set by the Ministry of Energy. The price as at the 16th Jan 2018 is €14.68.
The seller is allowed to add a "handling charge" to this price which usually comes to around €2.
If you buy them direct from the lorry you will be charged the €14.68.
Cepsa bottles (the silver ones) are not regulated and their website says "The price of the Cepsa bottle made of stainless steel is not regulated by the Government's activity on prices in the energy markets. As it is a liberalized price, Cepsa and each official supplier of Cepsa can market the butane gas bottle at the price they deem appropriate."
The current price is about 75 cents higher than the Repsol bottles plus, of course, the "handling charge".

No idea. However the gas bottle prices are here for the orange ones
Precio de Gas Repsol
Which clearly states the price including IVA that you should pay from the supplier.
How would I know how come?
But, really? 82 cents over the official price? Maybe the driver was saving up to retire.

Think I was ripped off too from the lorry, he was delivering across from me so I asked for a new bottle, can't remember exactly how much but a few euros more than I expected

You need to go to the main distribution center in Daya Nueva that will be your cheapest option, before having a 1000 ltr tank fitted I used to pick up 10 at a time for the central heating.
