Artificial Grass

Artificial Grass

Postby mikeandlianne » Wed Feb 07, 2018 5:24 pm

Hi, We are considering laying some artificial grass on our roof solarium so were wondering if anyone else has installed it and whether it is a good option on a tiled roof solarium in Spain?

Wasn't sure about the winter months - will it hold water or cause any problems for instance?

Any advice/thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Just one thing. Our friends had it done on their solarium and said that it was unbelievably hot to stand on in the hot weather and they were thinking of removing it. Maybe its ok where there is some shade or just on parts of a garden with paving in between but it seems to retain heat...hot plastic - Ouch !

We have artificial grass and is fantastic, doesn't hold water or cause any other problems, yes it gets hot but no different to the temperature of the tiles we previously had

We have artificial grass on our sun bathing area of the garden and it not only looks great, but is very practical also. No problem with water retention. Recommend a good quality one though. Our's has a ten year guarantee.

Regarding the artificial grass, how do you go about cleaning it, as all kinds of debris gets blown onto my solarium, thankfully I have a good neighbour who regulary cleans it but wouldnt all the sand and muck get stuck into the grass and turn to sludge each time it rains?

You definitely need good powerful hosepipe and good drainage around the artificial grass area, other then that fine.

We have artifical grass on part of our patio, yes, it does get hot in the summer, but so do the tiles, we just get thegarden vac on it to blow away debris.

Will definitely take your comments on board.

We may try laying some in a small area as a test and see how we get on with it.
