Dog walking area
Dog walking area
by ladymaisy » Wed Feb 28, 2018 1:12 pm
Hi
Just been to the dog walking area near Consum and noticed that there are a number of concrete drainage pipes laid out on there.
Does anyone know why and if building is planned on the site meaning we will lose this safe fenced area for dog walking.
TIA.

Hi
It's near Consum - Walking away from Consum on Avda Salamanca, the entrance is near the junction of Avda Salamanca and Avda de Malaga

As far as I know dogs not allowed on beaches March to October. Have heard that a doggie beach has been opened at La Marina but not been to loik for it yet.
Doggie walking area near Consum is secure and they can run around. Black poo bags and 4 bins also provided to dispose of poo.

Dogs are not allowed on public beaches at any time of the year. However, most locals seem to take their dogs on the beaches in the winter months but it is a fineable offence. There are a few "dog-friendly" beaches in the area. I know there's one at Alicante, one at Santa Pola and one on the Elche associated beach.
If it's a big or dangerous dog they must be muzzled and for the one at Elche you have to have your pet passport (not sure of the other two).
Have also seen dogs on the beach at Guardamar at this time of year.
