Communal pools and kids

You would be well advised to seek out your community president and ask them what (if any) is the ruling on this subject. This correct information will then enable you to decide on whether to speak to the parents of the children direct. I would point out that it is you who have to approach the parents, not the president, as with all other problems of this nature, unless he/she offers their services in this respect.

and a "prowling" Presidente making sure they are adhered to

We tend to be lenient, we allow a couple but last year there were six...with adults on them, you could hardly move around the pool.
As in all pool rules, common sense should prevail.

Sorry but, “As in all pool rules,” adherence “should prevail.”

One person’s idea of common sense or, bending of the rules, is usually only applied to satisfy their needs/desires/wishes and, that might well be disastrous for others.

Good post. Some people seem to think that the rules don`t apply to them or their children and if it wasn`t for `prowling presidents`people would just do as they like without any regard to others.

Community pool rules are there for a good reason, and not to spoil people`s enjoyment as many think.

As a non prowling president I try to use common sense.
If an inflatable is impinging on someone else's enjoyment of the pool it would be removed.
What I won't have is people knocking on my door telling me there is a child in the pool with an inflatable when there is nobody else in the pool.

I was voted in as our first community Vice President 13 years ago. I did a lot of research at the time, and found that 80% of other communities in the Quesada area all had rules banning inflatables.

Rules are rules, no matter how many people are in the pool.

It`s the same with the` no ball games` rule.

No exceptions. It`s what the owners voted for .... Renters couldn`t care less.

We`ve had renters who have been coming for many years and over time they have become very good friends and are never a problem.

But in my experience if anyone flouts the rules or think they don`t apply to them, it`s always renters .. of all nationalities.

But if things do get out if hand, I find that a quick word with the owner normally does the trick. But it annoys me that some people seem to think that they can do what they like .. and this is after they have just stood there and read the rules.

Not taking a shower before using the pool is a big problem sometimes. Some people think that it`s fine to come straight off the beach and jump straight in the pool. Despite big signs in four languages they still don't shower, and I spend too much of my unpaid time every year telling this ignorant idiots to shower first. !!
