Villa Martin bad luck or not !

Friends have lived there for only 17 months and suffered their second burglary last week,they increased security after the first event,yet the bastards still got in again.

Sadly they are shell shocked and afraid of what may happen next,they wish to sell up and move somewhere else in Spain,I mentioned to them they would be better if renting if they can sell the property.

Any advice which I can pass onto them would be helpful.

Hi have they had a alarm fitted .. ..??? Window locks ??? Anti snap locks ?? You really need to make it hard for them just like you have to in England those thief’s exist everywhere;; we have Prosegur alarm and you can request pictures of the inside of your home when not there ,,if the alarm goes off the call centre request pictures and call you ,, you also get notification to tell you ;; I’m sure the signs on the walls alone puts them off ;; we had a builder put window locks on ,, good neighbors also help .

How did they get in? That would help so that people can advise them. It seems you are unlucky to be Burgled and the longer you have a Property here the more you learn about how to keep as safe as you can. There are thieves in any area and it would be a shame if they gave up. I can't think that Renting would make any difference unless you mean vacate the Property. It is a puzzle why some people are targeted but as said make it as hard as possible for the Rogues so that they move on.

How do you know that the burglars were Spanish?

After The first break in they installed roller shutters and had an alarm system fitted,they also had the only door to the property reinforced.......they think because they are amongst rental properties,winter with their lights on informs the crooks who is actually resident,both their neighbour's either side and the two properties behind them are all rentals .

Hi.....They popped out for shopping and never locked the iron gate in front of the main door,prob gone for 45 minutes.....they must be being watched as both break ins happened when they went out.

So why leave the gate open? Its there for a reason.
