La Siesta-Mosquitos

Hi All,
La Siesta and the surrounding areas are mosquitoes and flies a bigger issue than other areas a little more inland and further from the water?

We had a Holiday Home in that Area for 7 years and never had a problem with either. Mosquitoes thrive where there is standing water even in your garden. Flies are common in October time and pester people rather than food. Every Area seem to have them. Spanish Wasps like water and buzz around showers. We always walked round the Lake and were never bitten.
