Freesat - Dish Size

Freesat - Dish Size

Postby wallerd21 » Tue Jun 26, 2018 1:09 pm

I have been using UK Freesat in Spain for the last 5 years. Me and my two neighbours bought a 1.9m dish which we share. I use a Humax box and life is good - even though the UK launched a new satellite with a narrower beam a couple of years ago this has not caused too much of a problem - albeit we start to lose a few channels during the summer.

My neighbour now wants his solarium back and wants to remove the dish - so I it looks like I'll have to go it alone. Does anyone have any experience of using the smaller 1.4m dish which a lot of TV companies advertise? And can anyone recommend a good seller/installer?

Thanks
Dave

A 1.4 meter dish will give you good reception except when the atmospherics are causing a problem.

I have used a twin LNB 1.4 meter dish for many years with very good reception through Humax box....1.9 dishes are no longer needed, and you can now buy them at Lumsden auction quite often!

A 1.4 metre dish is perfectly adequate providing that it is correctly aligned. I would recommend GO Satellite in Calle Los Arcos if you need a good local engineer
