Most insurance policies cover third party liability, I would imagine your insurance covers damage to other parties, check your policy - good luck.

If u paint on the mould it just comes back through. No need for expensive products, and no need to strip rendering on walls, High concentration on bleach to water, approx 1 to 5, only need a small container amount, brush it on any mould areas, enough so it is wet enough so it can run down the wall over the mould, leave it for a few hours, hey presto, the mould will be gone, leave it for a few days to dry out, and you are ready to paint it, cheap and simple, good luck.

Hope it works out well for you. We were thinking about selling our property and buying an apartment in Guardamar...makes you think!

Let us know how it goes. If you do pay a community charge I would still ask the President or Administrator if you get any problems sorting this out....and as above don't be bullied (good advice!)

Good luck.

Thanks Jan, we’ve been in Guardamar for 16 years without any issues. It’s a lovely place a great friendly town with the most fantastic beaches.

If you're now talking about what paint to use, buy one that has an anti mould in it, more expensive but well worth it. We used to get a little mould caused by humidity. painted with that and no mould at all. Excellent stuff. (smells a lot when you use it)

I would suggest that you hire a dehumidifier before painting, put it in the affected room, and try and make as airtight as possible to extract all excess moisture from the walls, then follow the advice above.

We had a similar problem, we called unblockarod to solve the issue with the drain, unfortunately we couldn't claim it back on insurance but they were reasonable anyway.
Hope you get it sorted
