Tv via the internet

Tv via the internet

Postby Boothy » Tue Sep 18, 2018 2:46 pm

We have a house in Pueblo Lucero near to Ronald’s restaurant. We have been advised that the best way to have a tv service would be via the Internet. We are unsure what speed internet we would need as a minimum to achieve this. We also have a Sky box that we brought from the UK, could anyone advise if we would be able to use this for a tv service for free channels or would we still have to buy a package. Man y thanks.

The best way is with a Dish then you can use your Skybox .
Internet TV requires a TV Set top box and a steady speed internet around 10 Mbps and a subscription to an IPTV provider if you want good service.
I would suggest you ask the restaurant where they get their TV from

Yes, use sky box for free tv. If your card is still active with sky you should get everything with the dish. BBC. ITV etc. We’ve got internet tv and I recommend fibre. Some people get by with slow speed of around 8megs but it couldn’t handle all our WiFi gadgets. Pictures kept freezing especially at peak times. Ask your neighbors if fibre is available on your street.

To stream TV over the net you need at least 25 megabits per second (mbs, in spain megs or mgs, also sometimes referred to 3.5 megabytes per second )

Here’s some info from Netflix which works the same way as IPTV on minimum bandwidth

yes, it agrees with what I said - you need 3.5+ MBS at least. In practice if you try and pull TV down over anything less than 15Mbs it will pixillate like mad when theres fast action going on. Plus ofc you have to allow for the number of people on the node, in cities they maye have 500 peopel on a busy node, that will also cause you to throttle down. Never believe what an ISP tells you about the net speed ts selling you.

Hi
Definitely best to get a 2m size dish and rely on satellite tv, all the channels you need
Opt visa unreliable, even with fiber, and the tv apps have a habit of disappearing
