Swimming Pool issue

Swimming Pool issue

Postby MichaelM » Mon Oct 01, 2018 11:06 am

Hi all

We have a property in Benimar and the swimming pool has had a number of tiles come away recently. This coincided with an e-mail from Hidraqua warning of excessive consumption, albeit over the summer period. The villa has been full all summer. Could approximately 30 - 40 tiles coming away over a period of time resulted in an incredibly high water bill. Or should we be worried of an underlying issue with the pool? Would appreciate any thoughts and or advice.

Hi If it has an auto fill turn it off and do the bucket test this will give an indication as to leaks.

We have had the similar problem a couple of years ago which resulted into relaying the whole surface of the pool due to a very big leak. However your result may require a different solution to ours.

definitely turn off autofill if you have one.most leaks are around the skimmer area where chlorine causes holes in the plastic pipes

Definitely contact Lee at Poology, he can do do a full pressure test of your pool to locate where your leak is and give you a price to repair it. When was the last time your pool was re grouted? This should be carried out approximately every 5 years, as once the grout starts to deteriorate water can seep through the gaps and can cause your tiles to lift. Contact Lee on 634186710.

Just had Lee from Poolology round to check mine for leaks. He saw the problem straight away without doing the test, so saved me the test fee. He'll be round next week to fix it , again at a good price. Least I can do is point people in his direction
