The wee Italian man, does anyone know about this restaurant

We always refer to it as Mr Misery’s but we love going there for the Solomio steak, it’s wonderful. You have to go early as it’s always busy. Atmosphere is great and watching Mr Misery is entertainment enough! The staff are excellent.

Sounds like a fantastic wee restaurant where exactly is it and what is it called,just we are moving to La Maquesa at end of October and would love to try it.

We use to call it the sweaty rag because the owner always carried a dirty tea towel over his shoulder. I have been going there for over 15 years, i think he has been in business there for over 20 and the fact that he is still busy is a testament to his food. it is good, quick and cheap. we always choose the same items off the menu, i know its not adventurous, but once when i went off piste i was disappointed. anyway on the last 5 visits, having the same meal, it has varied on price each time, never over the prices on the menu, i think because he hand writes the bills which no one can read he makes it up as he goes along, quirky. he is never rude just dour but get used to that and you'll enjoy the food.

Put me off when he wiped the sweat off his brow with the cloth round his neck, then two,minutes later carried our plates of food with the same cloth. Ugh!

what your dirty finished plates away doesn't really matter, but full plates to eat does
been a few times never disappointed always been served by his daughter

We visit the restaurant every time we’re on holiday. Been going about 10 years. Great food, great prices, really quick service. We love it.

I know the restaurant as grumpies as this was how I was was introduced to it. But I have to say he has never been grumpy with myself or my family the food is always good but that said he does not always come across as the most accommodating host. And as has been said the bills are hand written and are ineligible but we still go on a semi regular basis so I guess it’s horses for courses.
