Repacking Battery Packs

Repacking Battery Packs

Postby MicLin » Tue Oct 16, 2018 4:39 pm

Hi Everyone, I have a Dyson V6 Animal which is 3 years old and needs a new Battery as our run time is diminishing daily. A new one will cost me GBPounds 60.00 plus shipping.

In the past I have had experience of some companies in the UK who sell new rechargeable batteries or repack failed battery packs.

Can anyone out there please help with info of anyone local to Quesada / Torrevieja that can help. I'm sure that it must be possible to repack a lot cheaper than 60 Pounds +.
Thanks in advance.

Many thanks Glassful at least that is €20.00 less than from Dyson. I still think however that someone around here must sell rechargeable batteries of various capacities which I could solder together to repack original Pack at even cheaper cost. Thanks again and if anyone else has any advice I would be grateful.

It's for a vacuum cleaner Fred, and they could be Icon ?? Batteries, it's just what we are looking for too, they don't seem to last long in our hoovers at all. We were quoted 90 euros

Try doing a YouTube search for how to disassemble these batteries and replace the cells.

You’ll soon realise that you have to totally butcher the casing to get it apart and that €40 for a replacement looks like a pretty good deal.

If you do get a new one, or replace the existing cells yourself, make sure that you dispose of the old battery responsibly.

Pete.

It is possible to make something yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWeDcgbVXHo
If you like that things like i do you will do yourself.

If never did something similar I would recomend to buy a new one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdMH5NVt2Sk this is the video for the one I'm trying to get sorted out, don't think I could do that! If anybody is willing to give it go, I would pay for you to do it.

You can't beat the old upright Hoover vacuum cleaner that plugs into the mains.
No batteries to recharge or replace.
