Hi Margo

My husband and I went to the meeting. Personally we did not learn a great deal from it, basically because no one knows what is going to happen yet and exactly how it will impact on ex pats. There were representatives from the Healthcare, HMRC and British Consul and a lawyer. After she had spoken for about 10 minutes she then invited everyone who wanted to ask questions to queue up and speak to the relevant person ie residency, tax etc.

One thing she did say was that if Spain is or is going to be your main country of residence, apply for your residency now - don't wait to find out what is going to happen.

Here are some useful websites which were given at the meeting.

http://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-spain
http://www.healthcareinspain.eu
In the search box on http://www.gov.uk type UK national in the EU: essential information
Look at the Living in Spain guide on gov.uk and sign up for email alerts to be the first to know when information on this page, or related to Brexit is updated.

She also said that if you haven’t changed your uk driving liscence to a Spanish one, do it now before March. It wasn’t in rojales by the way, it was in the cultural centre Quesada.

We contacted be sure at the beginning of October. They’ve got us an appointment for residency on the 20th this month, next Tuesday. They’ve told us what we need to take with us so hopefully all will go well.
