Gas heater v paraffin heater

Totally agree with Marcliff re the windows.
Cannot believe the difference in the temperature of our house this year compared to last year since we had the windows replaced with 28mm double glazing. We are not needing to have air con / gas fire on for any length of time at all, and the beauty is that the rooms are retaining the heat when we switch heat source off. No draughts coming in and freezing your legs and feet or blowing down the back of your neck.....lovely,
Might be a big expense initially to replace windows (we cut cost and kept our original persianas), so there are options, and I have to say I was reluctant to spend money on the windows, but the comfort levels we are noticing and only having a blast of heat to take the chill out of the room, it was worth every penny.

announcements-f2/reminder-about-posting-contact-details-t765.html before deciding check the price of paraffin you will be surprised how expensive it is. Gas is definitely the cheaper option. Be aware, which ever you choose, windows will have to be left cracked a millimetre or two as both cause condensation.

We use a combination of air con (for the instant warmth) and a thermal emitting dry-stone radiator. We have a 1500w heater, which keeps our entire downstairs nice and toasty!

We use the Aircon at the moment, but if really cold use the central heating as we have Natural Gas, soon be Summer and 40c.
