I always believe that it is best to use the authorised service centre for your make of boiler. What make of boiler is it and is there not a phone number for service either on the boiler or with the paperwork ?

I also believe in the proper service agents as I am a retired professional builder and checked the phone number route but there is none

The boiler is a Valiant and I have even asked the community factors and sent photos boiler numbers etc. but no luck so far.

Maybe holiday period hasn’t helped but you get the feeling if it is not an easy earner, nobody wants to know.
