SIP/Residencia query

I am awaiting my Residencia appointment, which will likely be in April now. I have quotes for health insurance ready to choose one policy (I’m below retirement age).

However, I am now starting a job next week, that is an office based job, with a contract and SIP card. Will I still need to take out the health insurance for Residencia ? Will they decide that I have to have had the job a certain number of months before I no longer am required to have private health insurance ? Or will they just be happy that I have health coverage through work and it doesn’t matter that I have only been there a short amount of time ?

Your social security payments through your job will get you a SIP card. That is sufficient for residency and you will not require private insurance.

Brilliant news. Forgot to say it is a part time job. Is there a minimum number of hours per week I need to be doing to qualify for the social security ?
