Now that Maggie May seems to be accepting the inevitable, the rate has gone up to 1,16.5 . . . . any bets on seeing 1.20 again??

Until this long running farce called Brexit is resolved it will continue to trade in a narrowish range. If some deal is struck keeping the UK in the single market, or if a people’s vote is decided upon, yes you could easily see 1.20.

Isn't it strange....the further away the chances of Brexit actually happening, the better the £ to € rate becomes?
Now if Brexit were to disappear completely, we might get back to the good old days before the Brexit nonsense started when the £ was up in the mid 1.30's.
Just a whimsical thought.....

Not saying you are wrong Barry. But it certainly depends on HOW we come out. Could be down to €1.06 with no deal.

Anyone on this site who voted out and live or owns property in Spain should be ashamed of themselves if that is the reason we see 1.50 exchange rate i hope we never do.

I believe currency variations are largely due to extremely wealthy individuals and global corporations speculating to become even wealthier.George Soros made a few extra quid doing exactly that between £ and € a few years ago.
Quite apart from that I also believe we will be exchanging our euros for pesetas in a few years.
