Changing a UK registered motorbike onto Spanish plates

Asking on behalf of a non member of this forum.

1 how does one go about re matriculating a UK motorbike onto Spanish plates.

2 what is the time limit of doing so for someone who is resident in Spain

I did mine. Within 6 mths of obtaining residency you can import a UK registered motorbike as an item of personal property provided you have owned it for a certain period of time prior to residency. If it isn't a standard bike or all original you will need an ITV engineer's report costing about 120 euros in cash. Then you can get it ITVd costing another 90 something euros. Then you go to the tax office or a Gestor with direct access to the tax website to get a form stamped that says you have paid any import tax due which is nil during 6 mths after getting residency. Then you go to Traffico with the relevant form off the DGT website. They want about 95 euros. That's it. Its actually quite easy to do yourself. I recommend the engineer and ITV station at Redovan.

850euros minimum .that is not including getting an original right hand drive headlamp. Mine cost me 300 euro . You can not put a led one in place.
I was also charged double tax 9.95%
