Hello All,
Could anyone recommend a hotel stop over about half way between Torrevieja and la jonquera. I have an elderly passenger to look after.
If you can help I would be eternally grateful.

Looking at Google maps, it appears to be somewhere round about Peniscola, assuming you're driving. I've not travelled the route so can't recommend any hotels, sorry.

Direct route looks to be just over 700 km, about 8 hours (with a couple of breaks) and around €112 in tolls. Half way mark would be around Castellón de la Plana, 3 to 4 hours in.

If you are traveling back to Blighty then that is an expensive route to be using. Much cheaper and better to be going Samport Tunnel way

Driving to Narbonne is about 7 hours. If you are looking to have a break half way then Tortosa or Tarragona might be about right. The tolls are quite high on the AP7 and the road is busy but for Narbonne you don’t really have another choice.
Re hotels, I always use Booking.com. There is a map on the web so you can see where the hotels are in relation to the motorway (if you just want to take it easy) or the town or beach if you want to do some exploring.
Just one thing, regardless of whether you have a Satnav or not, I would advise you to stay on the AP7 round Valencia. My Satnav’s keep trying to take me on the V31 I think it is right through Valencia and it is best avoided in my opinion. There is no need to detour off the AP7.
