La Mata lake takes in the sea water which is gradually let into the Pink Lake where the Salt is harvested. They aren't for leisure persuits. It is a Salt Business. You should go to the Salt museums and find out how it works. The Mar Menor is the best place to go where the sea isn't as rough as Guardamar and La Mata.

Lo Rufete near Torremendo hire out kayaks for use on the Blue Lake. Could be worth checking them out, you may get discount with your own Kayak.

I had an inflatable Kayak, and took it out on a local lake one winters morning. As it was cold I decided to light a small gas portable heater that I brought with me to keep warm, unfortunately it set the kayak alight and I was lucky to get back to shore. It was at this time I realised that you can't have your Kayak and heat it.

I would check with Citizens advice before taking a kayak on either of the lakes...as far as I am aware it is illegal but best check

La Mata is a nature reserve...surely you're not allowed to kayak there...
