With sunrise in the region currently occurring at ~7:30 I'm not sure that 8:15 really constitutes "the crack of dawn", indeed for many (me included) 8:15 would be regarded as closer to midmorning lol.richardlionheart wrote:I was told, when we went for Padron in Torrevieja, in January, they only give out 50 tickets at a time......so you have to get there at the crack of dawn (eg 8:15 AM) t oget in the queue

Just to update everyone Rosales town hall now has a ticket/ queuing system, the ticket machine is on the left as you enter.
Hope this helps

José is on the Information desk, take your passport etc. He’ll do the forms for you & you usually can collect your Padron in a day or two. They are open until 2pm & it’s on the square up the street opposite the Farmacia.

In order to register your child in a Spanish state school, much more important than the Padron is having obtained your Residencia - you haven't said, but I assume you already have Residencia, as to sign on to the Padron without it would be illegal?? As Shiva advised, you really ought to be seeking professional advice on this.

when i retired i stopped doing 8AM. And 7 AM
And we all know 6 AM was invented by Hitler in WW2 to try and break us.
9:30 is a civilised time to get up, and mid-morning is 11 AM.......

I did ask our Solicitor about being a permenant resident but due to Brexit we are unable to do this at present, so need to be register on the Padron and produce our property deeds and a recent utility which I’m hoping a contract is on our mailbox when we collect our keys tomorrow .

Lisa, just to put your mind at rest you don’t need to have residencia to enroll your children in a Spanish state school. Mine had been enrolled for a number of years before we got residencia and their NIE numbers. Best of luck
