Roadworks near Benijofar

Does anyone know what the roadworks between Quesada and Benijofar are for........just being nosey !!!

If its on the main road between a couple of roundabouts, I suspect its cable laying, perhaps fibre optic ?

Or it could be they are putting in a walk way

As Johnny said. A footpath is being put in to connect Benijofar to Atalaya. Later to connect Monte Azul. I await with bated breath

If that is true it would be a huge improvement ...and make Quesada to Benijofar safely walkable.( Still can never get over the folk who take their life in their hands on that stretch from Mercadona to the first Benijofar Roundabout, where you have to walk on the very small verge...) But, will believe it when it's finally seen...

Is the footpath in progress when we was over last month we saw workmen starting something

Yes it’s definitely a walkway , running alongside the current cycle lane. Reckon it will be completed in the next few weeks.

The construction information board near the Benijofar-end roundabout says its a new cycle-way at a cost of 349,999.00 Euros

Cycleways get funded by Government.
Pedestrian walkways do not

That’s amazing, we have just bought a new villa in Benijofar and being able to walk safely to Quesada will be great , we are back over in 3 weeks so can’t wait to see if it’s done ✅
