Alicante restaurants

We are meeting friends in Alicante for lunch. Would welcome any restaurant recommendations. Would like somewhere a bit special and by the water would be ideal. Thank you

If you want to be near the sea then El Barco is the floating restaurant which looks like an old pirate ship. You can also just go in and look around (€5 entrance which includes one drink). Certainly somewhere different.

El Portal never disappoints. Incredible food and amazing decor.
Piripi is also fantastic too. Try the gamba roja here.
Taberna To-Bar
Templo for the best dry aged steaks
Casa Mia Italia
No Manolin is amazing too
Restaurant Cesar Anca.

L'Atelier.
Not near the water, in a side street in the old town but definitely special. Menu del Dia aroundd 14€ plus drinks, also there are 3 other set menus for 28€ each. Food quality excellent and presentation exquisite. Small and intimate I would recommend booking.

Always book, if not you'll probably not get in anywhere!

Thank you all so much for your really helpful replies - what a fantastic selection. I will easily be able to select a restaurant for meeting up with friends - and lots to choose from for future trips to Alicante.
