is there an equivalent to heinz salad cream. T.I.A.

I think salad cream is a purely British thing therefore the only one available here would be Heinz. Certainly, the only one that Iceland sells is Heinz and I've seen it in Gama, Mas y Mas and I'm pretty sure a couple of other places.

as Bro. Marcliff says I don't recall an equivalent but I have def. see Heinz somewhere locally

Noticed it in Consum as well today. Heinz only but they also had the sandwich spread version
I think the Spanish would stick to Mayonnaise or Aoili (branded Alioli).
There are, however, loads of recipes to make your own salad cream if you Google it.

(Remember the Fawlty Towers sketch? Our chef is a whizz at twisting the top of the bottle on salad cream.)

YES!! There's stuff you get in jars in LIDL, its called "Salsa Ligera" its basically a thicker version of Hienz salad cream. It looks liek salad cream and pretty much tastes like it, just thicker.

Really? It's actually a light mayonnaise and we have used it. Can't say it has the vinegary taste I associate with salad cream.

Pic and Pay have large containers of salad cream bought one myself the other day, salsa ligera is similar but not the same. but I have bought Heinz in Consum

icland and the small super market in quesada sell a equivalent in a large plastic bottle along with a range of sauces that we all like,can hardly tell the the difference apart from the price ,its so much cheaper the the big brands
having said that icland have not had salad cream in there shop down the road from la marina for a week or 2
