New printer to computer.

Anyone know of mobile computer man who can come to get my new printer to respond to the computer. Got it to print but it won't scan. TIA.Keith 658254557

Hi ive just replaced my computer & had a similar problem as once set up the computer was talking & printing to the computer as it linked them but only to print you have to download & re install your drivers to get the scanner working its not a hard job.

When I had the same problem, Google said connect printer to computer with usb cable. With computer on, cable connected, printer switched on give it a minute or so then scan something. Next time I scanned, no need for the cable.

Nobody is allowed to do home repairs currently

I would suggest that you reinstall the software that came with the printer

Another trick I found when my HP4500 would have the same problem, was to open the printer dialogue box on your computer and ask it to scan from there. Worked every time.
