Paint the underside don’t use a brush has her lines but spray can would probably be better option or a roller

I have had another thought which may be as good as any!

Have a piece of darkened glass cut to size which should look wonderful.

Or see if you can get a piece of dark window film cut to size to fit .

Have a piece of mosquito fabric cut the same size as the glass and attach it to the rear of the glass.the dark fabric will look a little like the original rattan.
