How to dispose of old batteries/oils etc
How to dispose of old batteries/oils etc
by PGA » Sat Jul 20, 2019 12:37 pm
The previous owner of my house left in the garage a few cans of engine oil and a largish battery (possibly from a golf kart) that I would like to dispose of responsibly.
I am not on the padron and understand that you cannot get a pass for the recycling centre without this.
How can I dispose of these?

In Torrevieja we have bins that look like an upside down funnel by some bins you can put oil in those. There is one just up from the needle roundabout by the Friday market and batteries could be taken to the ECO recycle place by the police station opposite Carrefour

I'm not sure that this is the case as the council would want residents & Non residents to use the recycling centre to stop rubbish & garden rubbish being illegally dumped.

You only need to be house owner in this area to get pass from the town hall , it is limited to Rojales and Quesada residents , the idea is to stop people travelling from out of the area to dump there rubbish and trash .

Takes 5 minutes to get on the padron at Rojales town hall even if you're a non-resident. Useful for you and the community plus it will help in getting a temporary healthcard as well.
However, you can now get a pass from the town hall or the municipal town hall with your passport and proof of address.

Thanks all.
I’ve read conflicting reports regarding whether non-residents should be on the pardon or not to the extent I’ve even read one report stating that it could be illegal. I’d rather not get drawn into the arguments on it for now but appreciate the advice and pleased to see proof of ownership is now sufficient to secure the permit. Many thanks all.
