Torrevieja Hospital Phoning For Appointment/Operation.

I was just wondering if anyone had ever had Torrevieja Hospital ring,to provide a day and a time for an appointment or a procedure ?

Having recently attended the hospital for a short stay,the specialist saw me before I left and explained I needed a further procedure.He gave me an A4 sheet of paper in Spanish with everything listed down (explaining the procedure/risks etc),and said that I would receive a phone call (he stressed it would be in English) giving me the definite date/time and where I had to go in the hospital. The provisional day (prevista) was over a week ago,and so far there has been nothing.

Has anyone had any similar experiences to this,presumably there may be factors (waiting lists/time of year etc) as to why the provisional date has come and gone ?

The system does work wel. You normally get a text a couple of weeks before. You can also register online to check all your hospital details. You may need to get a password from your doctors reception whic i did the other day as mine didn't work. Go to torrevieja-salud.com then scrol. Down to YOsalud and try to registet first, you will neec your SIP card no. Then you can check out any hospital appts and test results and also make doctors appts

Yes, they do phone to remind you and tell you of the appointment and they do it in English.
If you are registered with torrevieja-salud (you can do this at the health centre) you will get the appointment with a barcode which you scan at the hospital.
All the information screens show the room to go to in Spanish, Valenciana and English.

Last time my wife saw a specialist she had to take the paperwork she was given to reception downstairs and they booked the appointment and printed out the appointment sheet there and then even though it was a month in the future.
