Manic Friday

Manic Friday

Postby marcliff » Thu Aug 01, 2019 5:03 pm

Tomorrow is the start of the great Spanish getaway. Hundreds of thousands will be driving down to the Costas from Madrid and other inland cities to getaway for the Summer and all along this area is a very popular destination.
Police are on alert at choke points, especially round the city motorways and it is expected to be, yet again, a very busy time on the roads.

The police have also, for the first time, started to use drones which they can use for both monitoring traffic and, the important bit, issuing fines for bad driving such as using mobile phones, lane changing, not using indicators (ha!) and so on. Apparently, they can't (as yet) monitor speeding with the drones but be aware, they are up there.

That would explain the small yellow boxes chained to the barriers when I drove down yesterday. Mobile speed cameras, lots of money going to be made over the next few days.
