Want to Vote in the General Election?
Want to Vote in the General Election?
by mondo » Wed Sep 04, 2019 11:20 am
If you have been following the news it seems there could be a General Election soon..
If you live in Spain and want to vote you will need a postal vote. It is very easy to do.
Just go to https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
You will need your passport number and your National Insurance number..just answer a few simple questions and that is it..
Don´t waste a vote, you should be heard...

Sorry, you cannot register because it has been over 15 years since you left the UK
Slight oversight don`t you think.

Not really...the link takes you to.
Use this service to apply to register to vote.
You need to be on the electoral register to vote in elections and referendums.
This service is also available in Welsh (Cymraeg).
You only need to register once - you do not need to register separately for every election.
You must register again if you’ve changed address, name or nationality.
You can also use this service to:
change the way you vote - for example in person, by post or by proxy
get on or off the open register
It usually takes about 5 minutes.
What you’ll need
You may need the following, if you have them:
your National Insurance number
your passport if you’re a British citizen living abroad, and want to vote in England, Scotland or Wales
There’s a different process to register anonymously, for example if you’re concerned about your safety.
anyone who has been living in Spain less than 15 years can vote...

Most residents are probably pro EU. Not necessarily the case if they still lived in the UK.

You are aware this is a General Election and not another referendum?
There will be no vote for leave or remain.
