Bins not being emptied.

Collection of unwanted items dumped by the bins - please note the new system as described below by councillor Derek Monks:

With regard to other items [unwanted items other than waste], these should first be telephoned to us at the Municipal Centre (96 572 57 22) with the address and container location so that the company can collect which they do on a daily basis. The wagon only goes to the containers previously advised.

The system previously was a once a week collection previously advised not random, so this new system is an improvement.
_______

I can add that the location of a container is best described by street name and the official blue sign block number. For example the container outside my house is Sierra de Maria bloque no. 5
______

Please help spread the information to those owners who are not part of this group.
Happy in the sun.

Probably the Town Hall trying to save money to pay for the artificial grass being laid on the side of Calle Onda. Looks nice but I am not too sure it will stay there very long.

Sorry to our bins are getting emptied every day what a wonderful service.
If you were in the uk your bin would be emptied 1 per week or fortnight.
I don’t see what the problem is.
Apart from people putting items in the bins.
Ie garden rubbish ( take it to the right place not bins )
Items that should be recycled should be put in the correct bins.
I could goon and on.
But very happy with our bin service.

Slight difference to individual bins not being emptied as opposed to bins that serve about 40 or 50 houses. We have 6 bins along our street and some 300 properties using them (OK, not everyone is here all year round).
Bins are (were) emptied here every day which is especially important in the summer months.
The fact these new contractors are not doing it leads to untidiness and a magnet for vermin.

You are lucky that you have been getting yours done every day. I went into town today and virtually all the bins along the way were overflowing with bags of rubbish dumped on the side.
There may be some areas where they are getting emptied but I can assure you that it has been several months now since that has happened in a lot of the areas.

I did give them the benefit of the doubt at the beginning as they said they would replace broken bins and ensure they were emptied regularly, especially as Quesada is now such a big area.
Unfortunately, they are failing and failing badly. Far from broken bins being replaced they are actually being removed.

I agree with marcliff. Drove to Quesada via La Fiesta/Balaerics/Av Aeropuerto/ Toledo/Azul and back past Lidl/ Los Regantes. It was impossible to find a bin that was not overflowing and bags of rotting rubbish all round them. Was seriously thinking of taking my rubbish down to the town hall and leaving it outside!

you always get one!

no-one is moaning in this thread the bin situation is a real problem the worst it has been in my 12 months here.

In fact I can remember gloating to family in the UK about being woken up early on a Sunday morning by the bins being emptied.

As new residents in Quesada we are disappointed
by the rubbish collection. Where we live we have never seen a road sweeper in the four months we have been living here.
Is this normal for Quesada.

I think that if you read the other posts then you'll find that it isn't normal for Quesada. That's what all the comments are about.
Since the new contractors have been appointed, the service has gone downhill rapidly.
