FREE MONEY TRANSFER FROM UK TO EURO

Yesterday I completed a money transfer from the UK to euro, by Transferwise. It took 5 hours and I received the full exchange rate
Today I received an email thanking me and stating any person I recommend will receive the full rate at zero cost whatsoever.

I don't think it is free to be honest.

If say the ACTUAL rate is 1.15, on Transferwise you would get say 1.145, so that is their bit.

Or have i misunderstood which bit you are calling Free?

The actual rate at the time of the transaction was 1.148. The rate transferred was 1.149, better than the advertised rate.

Sorry dont see how that is possible. These businesses are in it to make money not lose money!

At no time yesterday did the ECB rate fall below 1.157 so no, you did not get the 'full' exchange rate.

It was 1.149 on the 14th as it was on its rapid rise from 1.14 to 1.156

TRansferwise make money because they do charge to make a transfer, sometimes, they give a good exchange rate, but add a small mark up, and they have millions of other peoples money at any one point, and are collecting interest on it. Dont worry about Transferwise's profit margins, they are doing just fine, a greatcompany.
