Gas heater

Gas heater

Postby chrissie b » Mon Oct 21, 2019 11:40 am

Hi, does anyone know of someone who can have a look at a portable gas heater. It's only a couple of years old and with the drop in the temperature I thought I would get it going. However, despite a full bottle and the ignition sparking it won't light. Any ideas?

Sometimes they need a good vacuum especially around the pilot jet area. Other than that, hopefully others on here can recommend a heating engineer.

BTW There will probably be a barrage of anti gas heater posts in response to your question.

For what it's worth I think they are an effective and economical form of heating if used correctly along with a CO detector.

Thank you for that, we've had no problems with it in the past and it doesn't give off fumes(when working) just hope we can get it going.

I have just had my gas heater with the same problem sent away for service by TIEN shop on the road to Almoradi.

Hi usually when they have been off a long while the piping from the bottle is full of air and you may have to hold the ignition button down for ages b4 any gas comes through.you can also try putting a gas lighter or match if it will reach to the pilot whilst holding the button down to see if there is gas at the pilot. Don't worry about blowing yourself up the main burner won't come on until the pilot has heated the thermocouple up

Thank you for your replies, I think the heater is deceased, so I'll be off to buy a new one soon. X

Jpeg thank you for your input, but I can assure you that the regulator, in fact both of the ones I tried were on correctly.
