House Deeds, when did you get yours?

Hi all

We bought our place in June, when we got our keys we were given our deeds in paper format, however, we want to start our rental license process but our solicitor says our deeds are with the land registry and the process can't start without them.

They say they can not speed it up, but so far, everyone i have spoken to said they got there's on completion day.

I am confused, can anyone explain what is going on please?

I added some additions to my house which meant that a new escritura had to be made. I have been chasing and waiting for nearly 2 years now!! Apparently it is the usual Spanish cock-up, so many people retiring and no recruitment..... Don´t hold your breath. I am sure that your present copy escritura will suffice for your rental

You don't get paper deeds. Your solicitor notifies the land registry.

We were given the deeds at completion though? In paper format which is why this is all confusing

That was most likely your Escritura ,the actual deeds are store by the Notary at the registry in Madrid
