OK in many instances you probably won't get full access to the Play Store but there are many ways around that.

For me personally that means remotely browsing other devices on my network and effortlessly streaming from them something Tizen prevents me from doing.

All apps not compatible - why? TV's aren't touchscreen, but phones are - yes you can muck about with an onscreen pointer, but you soon bump into an issue or two - not all apps of course, but just don't expect it to always work.

TO ACCESS NETWORK CONTENT - I think you can do straight with the Samsung TV, don't need Android or anything else to do this. You can also share content from your phone to your Samsung TV using Miracast or other apps. I have Samsung TV to test and smart phone - Samsung also.

Samsung TV access network drive.

Press "Menu" on the remote control, select "Network," "AllShare Settings" and then "Content Sharing." Locate your PC in the list of devices. Select the device with the remote control to authorize it to play media on the TV.

Samsung 65RU7105
PCComponents €874.15
Amazon.es €679.00
MediaMarkt €662.15

Quite a difference.

LG 55UM7000
PCComponents €399.00
Amazon.es €379.00
MediaMarkt €379.00

Sony KD 55XG7096
PCComponents €679
Amazon.es €649
MediaMarkt €880

Looks you have to look around a bit.

And, of course, there's Carrefour, Euronics, Tien21, Don De and many others. Fortunately most have online catalogues to save the shoe leather.

Yes, I used the Apple TV to stream my stored music on the IMac but since buying a new LG tv I’ve found I can do it easily without the Apple box

Smart TV’s are useful if you know how to use them
I paired ours up with a google home mini and a google chromecast and now I can be totally lazy and I can now just use voice commands to turn the tv off and on, plus other stuff, total decadence !!!

Is the TV Tizen?

Access to the Play Store is one thing but some apps will only install on specific groups of devices, like phones say, but will simply refuse to even download for others even though in many cases they will work just the same.

No such settings or options on my Samsung TV.

Under 'Network' there are only:
Network Status - simply checks network connection
Open Network Settings - change between wired or WiFi only
Reset Network - reset

These are all you seem to get with Tizen.

Type the tv you want into Google and press shopping. It'll list everything available and then you can save to compare later. I saved 700€ on my tv purchase. Thanks google.
