IPTV problems

IPTV problems

Postby mondo » Thu Dec 19, 2019 12:24 pm

We are with Telfy.. we get our Tv from an IPTV company..

Today we cannot get TV.. the IPTV provider says it is Telfy... Telfy say the connection is fine, it is not them..

This morning the speedtest said the upload speed was 0.4, download 0.0

Now it is 78 upload, 173 download... still no TV

How can I find out where the problem lies..?

Thanks in advance

Hi Chrisdee...

I sent Telfy's reply to me to my IPTV supplier and he says "They are either lying, playing dumb or simply don't know - which I struggle to believe."

He then told us to put some data in the settings and Hey Presto it is now working...

Keeping my fingers crossed for Christmas..

Thanks Chrisdee...

If you had to alter setting then it was not Telfy to blame

You can see my problem.. IPTV say.. not us... Telfy say not us... we are in the middle with no TV..

What I wanted to know was...how do I find out where the problem is? And if i did find out, what could I do about it..?

Passing blame around does not put TV on the screen...

I am not a television internet engineer, nor a fibre optic specialist... so what should I do?

As it turned out the IPTV guy said put new setting in... I did... we have TV..

That is all the matters...

Thank you all, for all the help

Telly probably blocking certain connections, I’d suggest you use a VPN if it happens again

No idea what that means...

But Telfy have just rung me and said there was a problem their end. They say they have fixed it now. I have done as suggested by the IPTV people and changed settings and it is working... but Telfy say they have fixed it...

No idea what happened... but Telfy admit it was them.. I also have no idea what changing the IPTV box settings did either.

But I am not bothered... the TV is working..

That was clearly a Telfy problem but how or why that should afect an IPTV box settings is a mystery, what exactly did they have you change?
